Q. Will I be able to open a bank account while in Ireland?
A. Yes, you can set up an Irish bank account after you have registered at UL. Ulster Bank is located on campus, and there are a number of other banks in Castletroy. Banking for students is free. You will need to provide your passport and a letter indicating your Limerick address (available from the International Office) when you open the account.

Q. Is there a UL society for international students?
A. Yes. Membership is open to international and Irish students at UL. Further information and contact details can be found on the UL International Society website

Q. Where can I get information about the modules on offer at UL?
A. Module information is available online here.

Q. Where can I receive a copy of the class timetable?
A. You will receive your class timetable during Orientation.

Q. How long do I have before I need to finalise my module selection?
A. You have until the end of Week 2 of each semester to finalise your module selection. Failure to submit your module registration form to the International Office will result in a €20 fine.

Q. When will I receive my exam results?
A. An official exam transcript will be sent directly to your home address within six to eight weeks of sitting exams at UL.

Q. Will I need to bring an adaptor?
A. The standard Irish electricity point will take 220-240 volts. The most common plug is a 3-pin flat.

Q. How much money should I bring with me?
A. You should ensure that you bring some cash in euro with you for initial expenses such as groceries, taxis, etc. Before you leave home, ask your bank about the most efficient way to withdraw money. You can set up an Irish bank account after you have registered at UL.
