Incoming Erasmus Students
To study at the University of Limerick as an Erasmus student, the student's home University must have an Erasmus Bilateral Agreement with UL and the student must be nominated by the home University.
- Application deadline for Autumn Semester: June 30th
- Application deadline for Spring Semester: October 31st
When the student has been nominated by the home University, the next steps are as follows:
- Complete the Erasmus Online Application Form, the link and the password for which will be sent to the student's personal email address. Information on terms dates, accommodation and other matters will also be forwarded to the student's e-mail account. An information pack will then be posted to the student's home address, with an Incoming Erasmus Booklet, information on accommodation and other forms relating to the Erasmus programme at the University of Limerick.
- Reserve accommodation – the International Education Division will send nominated students the application form for on-campus accommodation. There are other accommodation options, such as residences situated outside the campus or accommodation in private houses with other students. All are within walking distance of the campus.
- Select provisional modules and submit a Learning Agreement. The Summary of Modules booklet may be downloaded from the left side of this page. Detailed module descriptions can also be consulted by using the module dropdown menu at the following link: http://outside.ul.ie/BookofModules It is important to note that there is a 2-week period at the beginning of the semester during which you may attend classes. The final decision about module registration is made at the end of this 2-week period. Consultation meetings with Academic Coordinators are arranged, in order to obtain academic advice.
- Book flights to arrive at UL in time for Orientation Week. This is a two-day programme that takes place before week one of the academic semester.
- English as a Foreign Language classes are available as an integral part of the academic programme. A language test takes place during Orientation to determine the level of English language proficiency of the student. The student is allocated to a particular class according to the results of the test. The timetable for these classes is not published in advance. This EFL module is worth 6 ECTS credits. Examination results appear on the official University transcript of results.
