International Student Experience - 02
Dinesh Babu Duraibabu, India, Postgraduate student
Hello, I’m Dinesh Babu Duraibabu and I’m a master's student, studying VLSI systems at University of Limerick. I come from India and it has been a year in Limerick. I don’t love to travel a lot but I did travel in Ireland to be honest. Ireland is known for its natural beauty and it’s one of the things I liked the most about Ireland.
The University of Limerick is one of the most beautiful campuses in Ireland. And moreover people here are really kind and very helpful.
I know it is very difficult to be in a new place full of strangers. I had the same feeling, how would I manage in a completely new country. But as soon as I came down to Limerick, I enjoyed every day. The lecturers, friends and the sporting facilities offered made my stay here in Limerick enjoyable. If you have anything to ask, you can contact me: 11087021@studentmail.ul.ie

Vishrut Krashak, India, Undergraduate student
Hello everyone, my name is Vishrut Krashak , I am from India and I am a first year student of bachelors of electronics and computer engineering at UL. My hobbies are playing cricket, squash, table tennis, archery and chess, being an Indian I am much more interested in cricket than any sport and I love playing it. Apart from sports I like to be on facebook and surf the net for interesting information during my free time. I like travelling and discovering different cultures. Studying at UL has proved to be good for me so far as I have made lots of friends from different parts of the world, spent valuable time with them along with attending many reenergising events at UL. Staying alone for the first time has made an impact in my life, not only have I become independent but strong as well and this has moulded me into a good person. I am looking forward to what lies ahead. Contact me at 12085766@studentmail.ul.ie

Taylor Burley, MI, USA
My name is Taylor Burley, and I am a 21 year old Journalism and New Media student at the University of Limerick. I grew up in south Mississippi, USA, and attended college at the University of Alabama for my first year of college. I decided to study abroad in Ireland for a full academic year—my second year of college—and loved UL and Ireland so much that I decided to transfer. I am now in my fourth year and final year of college. After being in Ireland for nearly two and a half years, UL has become my home away from home.
I could go on for days and days about how amazing my experience in Ireland has been. UL has opened so many doors for me and given me so many new experiences over the past few years. I am looking forward to answering any questions you may have about studying abroad, transferring and becoming a full-time student or anything relating to life in Ireland. My email address is tdburley7@gmail.com. Please don’t hesitate to contact me—I look forward to hearing from you!

Caela Provost, Massachusetts, USA
Hello everyone, my name is Caela Provost and I’m a postgraduate student studying English at the University of Limerick! I hail from Winchendon, a small town in Massachusetts, where I did most of my growing up with the three best brothers a girl could ask for. I graduated high school as my class Valedictorian, and went on to attain a BA in English and a Minor in Music from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York where I loved every minute of my undergraduate experience.
Now for a little bit of who I am… Words are my life, and I honestly don’t know where I’d be or who I’d be right now without the written word. I enjoy traveling, exploring new and exciting places, boating and working at Lake Winnipesaukee, mocha chip ice cream, fireworks, making music, Christmas time, and spending time with my family and friends. I dislike most vegetables, that Gwen Stefani song about the bananas, and I’m terrified of clowns.
Most of all, I am looking forward to writing and talking to all of you about why I chose to get my MA in English here at the beautiful University of Limerick! I anticipate hearing from you soon! Contact Email: caelaanne42888@gmail.com
Katherine Davis, Massachusetts, USA
Hello! My name is Katherine and I study Business at the University of Limerick. I’m originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts and started my degree at Fitchburg State University back in the United States.
In the autumn of 2010 I started a study abroad programme at UL, which was supposed to last for a year. After getting involved on campus and seeing the opportunities living abroad presented, I decided to take a chance and transfer to become a full student here. This was after only one semester! Currently I’m in year two of the Business programme and there are still days that I can’t believe I live in Ireland.
With the support my family gives and the new family of friends I have made here, there hasn’t been a day yet where I’ve looked back and double guessed my decision to live abroad. Learning to live on my own and having to figure out how to rely on myself is one of my favourite parts of this experience and I highly encourage you to try it! If you have anything you would like to ask me, send me an email at Katherine-davis@live.com
