Widow & Widower Pension Entitlements

Here you will find information in relation to Widow and Widower Pension Entitlements and links to other organisations for further information.

A bereavement may leave you in need of financial support. A Widow's / Widower's Contributory Pension and related social welfare benefits may be payable if either you or your deceased spouse has enough PRSI contributions. The Department of Social, Community & Family Affairs has also published Working It Out - A Guide to Widow's & Widower's Contributory Pensions which may be of use. A Widow's / Widower's Non-Contributory Pension is paid to widowed people who do not qualify for a contributory pension and who pass a means test.
