This is a full-time one-year or part-time two-year postgraduate programme. The programme will prepare successful graduates for a career in sports performance analysis, specialising in strength & conditioning, video analysis and nutrition. The programme is offered by the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences in the Faculty on Education and Health Sciences. The course will increase understanding of the processes of advanced practice in sport performance analysis, by appreciating and challenging the current practice and designing innovative alternatives.
Launching in January 2013 will be an additional suite of modules designed to broaden the MSc in Sports Performance. These modules will be psychology specific and will give students the chance to have a sport psychology specialisation with their MSc in Sports Performance qualification. As an alternative to sports nutrition and/or S&C based modules (Endurance sports, CSCS and Nutrition PBL) prospective students may now elect to take a psychology pathway through the MSc by taking the following modules- Performance Psychology; Psychology Problem Based Learning (PBL); Psychological Skills Training for Sports Performance.
