Software Engineering involves the application of specialised knowledge and skills to develop different kinds of large, complex software systems. There is continuous demand for software engineers both internationally and nationally. This award will provide an opportunity for students, to gain up-to-date knowledge and skills in software engineering. For this reason, the award is designed to attract both full and part-time students. The part-time mode facilitates students currently in employment. It is a block-release course over four academic terms, spanning two years. In full-time mode the course spans a single academic year and requires full-time attendance on campus. Both versions have the same academic content. The course consists of both a taught component and a project.
