In Ireland, it is estimated that €500 million is lost each year through the absence of a systematic approach to quality management. There is widespread acceptance of poor communications, undefined responsibilities and inefficient work routines. To improve its competitive position on the world stage, Ireland's manufacturing and servicing organisations together with government agencies must adopt and practice world-class management techniques.
