This micro-credential represents a single module within a larger further award (eg. Certificate, Diploma, Masters). By taking this micro-credential you may be eligible to apply for a credit exemption should you progress to study for a further award. The programmes associated with this MicroCred are: 

This module will introduce the student to the fundamentals of Mobile App Development in Android and on the successful completion of this module participants will be able to:

  • Use Android to implement apps using a wide variety of the standard Android APIs.
  • Understand theoretical concepts used in the various Android specific APIs.
  • Make efficient use of the Android development environment AndroidStudio.

Using a number of engaging labs and assignments you will be introduced to a large number of Android programming principles and practices. This MicroCred is part of the Certificate in Computing for Secure Mobile Applications.

This module is suitable for applicants with previous exposure to object-oriented programming languages, ideally Java. 

Successful completion of this module does not automatically qualify you for entry into a further award. All programme applicants must meet the entry requirements listed if applying for a further award.
