Dr O’Connor is a consultant physician in general and geriatric medicine appointed in Jan 2010 and is on the medical council’s specialist register (MCN: 023828). She has worked as a tutor with the Graduate Entry Medical School, University of Limerick where she received formal training in problem based learning, clinical / communication skills, observed clinical and anatomical skills, structured examination (OCASE) standardized assessment methods and participated in the teaching program.

While working in King’s College Hospital, London, she received formal training in assessment and supervision of the Foundation Year program, including CBD (case based discussion), mini-CEX (clinical evaluation exercise), DOPS (direct observed clinical skills) and mini-PAT (peer assessment tool) assessments. She is the Regional Specialty Advisor, west for Geriatric SPR training and chairperson of the department of Medicine. Interests include vascular disease and osteoporosis. FRCPI 2002.
