EU Applicants
EU Entry Requirements
Candidates must hold a minimum 2.1 (second class honours, grade one) result in their first honours bachelor degree (NFQ Level 8).
For candidates who meet this requirement, GAMSAT (Graduate Australian Medical Schools Admissions Test) will then be used as the sole instrument to select students for the programme.
Graduates from any discipline may apply.
EU Application Process
All applications must be made through the CAO.
Information about applying through the CAO is available at www.cao.ie.
The course code for the Graduate Entry Medical Programme is LM101.
Please note that this is a restricted course so applications must be made before 1 February each year for entry the following September. The course may be added to your existing application not later than the final date for correction of errors or omissions. This date will normally be 1st March and it is your responsibility to ensure that any restricted course applications are included and correct by that date.
EU Fees
EU fees for 2017/2018 are €14,843
The first half of the fees are due before enrolment and details on payment methods will be sent out with orientation packs in August in the year of commencement. The second half is due the following January.
In addition to the course fee, students are required to pay a Healthcare Screening cost of €250 in Year 1. This covers all immunisations across the four years of the programme.
Students are also required to purchase an iPad mini for use throughout the programme (including clinical years). The cost is in the region of €600. Further information can be found here.
Non-EU Applicants

For candidates who meet this requirement, GAMSAT (Graduate Australian Medical Schools Admissions Test), or in the case of North American applicants, MCAT will be used as an instrument for selection.
Non-EU applicants must also attend for interview as part of the selection process.

Non-EU Fees
Non EU fees for 2017/2018 are €41,000
Fees must be paid in full in September of each academic year.

Validity of GAMSAT scores:
GAMSAT scores are considered valid for two years. For example, results from GAMSAT 2017 will be valid for application to the Graduate Entry Medicine Programme at UL in 2017 or 2018 but not in 2019.
