Description
Disease prevention, health promotion, and healthy ageing are current priorities in Europe (e.g., European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing).
PAfH is pursuing a better understanding of physical activity, including regular physical activity in the form of diverse types of exercise training, as a viable therapeutic for physical and mental health and healthy ageing.
To this end, PAfH Physical Activity and Exercise as Medicine research focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of physical activity and exercise interventions to prevent the occurrence of ill-health, enhance and maintain current health, and augment disease management through physical activity and exercise.
