4th Annual Journey to Enterprise Excellence Conference

On the 16th of May 2019 UL will be hosting the 4th annual Journey to Enterprise Excellence Conference- Data Analysis Approaches for Enterprise Excellence with keynote speaker Joy Neville, former Ireland women's rugby union international and a current rugby union referee.  

The afternoon session of this conference  will focus on research and we are currently putting out the call for abstracts.  Please see below for details and I would be grateful if you could bring this to the attention of  any of your colleagues who are interested in presenting their research.

Call for Abstracts

The University of Limerick is delighted to extend a call for papers for the Journey to Enterprise Excellence Conference 4 – Research Symposium

The symposium will present the latest research in approaches, methodologies and applications of Enterprise Excellence.

The Theme for JEEC4 Research Symposium is “Leading Ireland to Excellence”

The top 5 papers shortlisted will be forwarded Lean Business Ireland, Enterprise Excellence Awards 2019. The awards will be hosted by the IDA and the nomination will be in the category of-

Research Award for the Best Contribution to Lean/Operational Excellence Body of Work

This award is open to all individuals, organisations and educational Institutes that have contributed to research in Enterprise Excellence.

The judges will be looking for the following types of papers:

Empirical papers that report original research work demonstrating enterprise excellence approaches in action. These can take the form of Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement initiatives, Cultural changes and Organisational alignment, etc. 

Interventionist papers that report original research work with the objective of improvements of in enterprise performance

Conceptual and critical review papers that either seek to define a research issue and propose a theoretical exposition/explanation capable of empirical testing (e.g., theoretical papers), or draw upon or synthesize existing knowledge to define what is currently known about a topic or issue (e.g., literature review papers, methodological papers) .

Entry should be made by paper submission, paying particular attention to the following:

  • Research & theoretical/practical framing
  • Research context, methodology and analysis
  • Discussion & conclusion
  • Organisational & social Impact

 

Submissions of Abstracts for Papers:

We invite abstract submissions for research, practitioner and case study papers. Abstracts on research should include research statement, methodology and a brief discussion of the findings. We welcome abstracts from students who have completed undergraduate and graduate research.  Abstracts should not exceed 500 words and provide a concise summary of what will be presented, including a paper title and the aim of the presentation. 

Please submit paper abstracts as PDF documents, naming the document as the presenter's surname and first initial (e.g. KellyF.pdf). 

Abstracts must be submitted to jeec@ul.ie by April 1st 2019

Acceptance of abstracts will be confirmed by April 8th 2019

Final versions of papers must be submitted jeec@ul.ie by May 9th 2019

  • Final versions of full papers should be ideally 4,000 and no more than 6000 words including references.
  • Paper presentations must not exceed 20 minutes in length.

Conference proceedings including presented papers will be published in The Journal of Enterprise Excellence.
