literary subjects, which require an interest in reading
and in how language works. They are also rewarding
subjects that are taken seriously by employers. You will

understanding of the theory of literature. You will also
be introduced to the people, themes and developments
that have made Ireland, Europe and theWorld what
they are today. When you have graduated, your skills in
the job market will be the valued ones of professional
writers who know how to sift and prioritise
information, as well as write discursively in clear and
elegant prose.
