Campus Life Events:
Every year Campus Life Services organises a series of evening activities for our students living on campus:

  • Spring Semester 2009 - This semester the line up of Campus Life Events is as follows:
Pancake Party: This will take place during lunchtime from 1pm to 2pm in Dromroe and Plassey Villages on Tuesday 24 February.  It is a charitable event running in aid of The National Children's Hospital.
Ceili: A ceili is organised for Tuesday 24 March at 7.30pm in Kilmurry Village Hall.  This is a great way to mix with residents from another village and have some fun.  This is being run in aid of St Gabriel's Centre for Children with Disabilities.  If you play a musical instrument be sure to bring it along and join in! Finger food and beverages will be provided.
Table Quiz: Following the success of the table quiz held last semester, we have decided to host a second one. This will be held in the Scholar's Club on 20 April at 7.30pm with refreshments and spot prizes available on the night.  First prize will be available for the table with the best score and all are welcome - the more the merrier!
Hip Hop Dancing: As with last semester, Hip Hop Dancing is continuing to take place in Dromroe Village every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm to 7pm.  This class is for all fitness levels and anyone can join!
Yoga Classes: are being held every Wednesday evening from 7pm until 9.30pm in Dromroe Village Hall.  The classes aim to improve your flexibility, tone up your shape and generally improve your well being by concentrating on your core strenght and breathing exercises.  If you would like to attend any of these classes please contact Dromroe Village Reception.
The "11th Hour": a documentary featuring Leonardo DiCaprio will be shown in Dromroe Village Hall on Tuesday 10 March.  The documentary which is based on current environmental issues will be screened at 8pm, so be sure to call in.
Earth Hour: Saturday 28 March.  Earth Hour is a global event whereby everyone turns off all electrical items for one hour.  At 8.30pm cities around the world will be turning off lights, televisions, radios, laptops and more.  This year we will be joining their efforts by turning off our electrical products and we hope you will join us.
  • Autumn Semester 2009:
Poker Nights: Our very first poker night of the year took place in Kilmurry Village Hall on Monday 3 November.  It was a great success with over 30 people taking part!
Belly Dancing Lessons are being held in Cappavilla Village every Monday evening from 7pm to 8pm.  The classes are running until exam time.
Hip Hop and Contemporary Dancing is taking place in Dromroe Village Hall on Tuesday evenings.  Students can join the class at any stage!
Table Quiz: It was organised by the Village Managers of all 5 villages on Monday 17 November in the Scholar's Club.  Nine teams took part with Cappavilla students forming the winning team.
  • Academic Year 2008/2009:
    Ciaran's Nutrition Class
Salsa Classes: A really fun class that is great for hips, buttocks and thighs.
Yoga Classes: Relax and unwind with our therapeutic yoga classes
Clay Modelling Workshop in Plassey Village

"It's easy being green" Campaign
The campaign aims to make residents more aware of how their lifestyle may impact on their environment.  It also aims to offer them various means by which they can reduce their carbon footprints especially when it comes to their energy consumption.  So check Campus Life Services Green Page in the Village Voice Newsletter.
