The Graduate Research Centre is situated in the Foundation Building at the University of Limerick which also houses a large part of the University's research activity across all faculties.  The Centre was established in 1993 with the purpose of ensuring that students engaged in postgraduate research have a 'home' and an identity, and to provide the services and infrastructure necessary for their studies.
 
The Graduate Centre of Business hosts more than 100 postgraduate students pursuing MBS and PhD degrees across a range of business disciplines under the KBS research themes:

• Work, Knowledge and Employment
• The Services Economy and Tourism
• Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Marketing
• Public Policy, Enterprise, Governance and Sustainability

It embraces a number of research centres which facilitate the grouping of faculty, research fellows, postgraduate students and post-doctorate students who share common research interests.
