NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SEPTEMBER 2013
The Centre for Project Management is a constituent unit of the University of Limerick and is classified by the University as a Centre of Excellence. In order to maintain the highest standards, all of the CPM's educational programmes are accredited and awarded by the University without exception

COURSE STRUCTURE
The programme is fully aligned with the University of Limerick structure and comprises of two 'taught' semesters of 15 weeks each. This includes 3 Autumn and 2 Spring Modules per year. Modules run sequentially, and learners do this in blocks of 5 weeks per module.

In addition learners will have the opportunity to carry out 1 summer module per year. An in-company project and a research paper
The In Company Project provides learners with the opportunity to conduct empirical investigations, using value management as a modelling and decision making framework, through the medium of projects and programmes in a live organisational setting.
The Research Paper is designed to develop conceptual, methodological and analytical skills among learners. Learners will be assigned to a research supervisor who will mentor them in the development, execution and completion of their research paper.
Induction: Prior to starting the programme, learners participate in a 1 week on-line induction. Induction to the programme is designed to encourage familiarisation with The Virtual Learning Environment and socialisation with your fellow learners.
Modules: Individual Module Purpose and Rationale Read more ....
As this is a level 9 Masters programme, each module is designed to elicit engagement on the learner's behalf of between 15 to 20 hours per week.
FLEXIBLE DELIVERY
This course is primarily a self-study course. It is organised in a Modular format and can be completed in a minimum of two years.
The programme is delivered primarily asynchronously on a powerful learning management platform.
Resources include interactive lectures, guided reading, case studies, experiential exercises, individual and group written submissions, presentations and supervised research, all supported by experienced academic moderators.
The educational principles and delivery support the shift towards student-based, active learning and specifically cater to the post experience part-time learner in line with established pedagogical theory.

ASSESSMENT
The programme modules include a range of different assessment features.
Assessment is continuous and there are no traditional 'end of module' exams. As a transmission model of learning is not our philosophy. Assessment of each module will be clearly articulated at the outset of your engagement with a module.
The programme is designed to take account of the needs of the post-experience learner and provides many opportunities for engaging in assignment work at both an individual and group level, together with critical reflections on theoretical components and their empirical application to real project and programme settings.
Leaners will receive feedback on a continuous basis and will be able to track their own learning progress throughout the programme.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Normally a level 8 primary degree + minimum 4 years experience working in a project related environment.
The course board reserves the right to interview candidates as it deems necessary as part of the selection process and in exceptional cases Recognition of Prior Learning may be taken taken into account where academic requirements are not met.
