Members of the UL community who have an interest in overseas development aid are invited to attend a networking and stakeholder engagement event in the Schumann Building on Wednesday 28th of November.
The event will be hosted by the Dean of the KBS and will bring together staff from UL, NUI Galway and Mary Immaculate College who are interested in different aspects of overseas aid. This event is an opportunity to meet colleagues with whom you share an interest and to learn more about the work that is going on in this area in Limerick and Galway. This in turn may enable you to explore opportunities for collaboration. It is also a chance to listen to representatives of the major stakeholders in this work and to learn how we can most usefully contribute to improving the welfare of people in Southern countries.
The format of the event is as follows:
11h00 Registration and coffee (S2-11)
11h30 Welcome by Dean, KBS
11h45 Panel discussion on theme "What contribution can academics make to overseas development"
Chaired by Professor Tom Lodge with speakers from Irish Aid and a range of development NGOs.
Followed by Q&A.
13h30 Brown bag lunch and informal discussions.
14h30 End of Session
