Vanessa Egan

Dr Vanessa Egan is a lecturer in Fluid Mechanics and Engineering Computing. Her research interests encompass the heat transfer and fluid mechanics of two phase and multiphase flows, aircraft compartment heat transfer and the cooling of low profile and portable electronic devices. Dr Egan has expertise in the use of advanced experimental techniques such as particle image velocimetry and IR thermography, to obtain full field velocity and temperature measurements. Her research has been funded by industrial partners and competitively won grants and she has supervised 4 PhD students to completion. To date Vanessa has received ~370 citations on her published works which include 25 peer reviewed and ISI journal articles, a chapter in ‘Microfluidics and Nanofluidics Handbook’ and over 25 peer-reviewed international conference articles.
