Dr. Daniel Carey is an Assistant Professor in Journalism and Visual Communications, joining the University of Limerick in 2024.
Worked as a journalist for the Athlone Voice newspaper (2004-2006) and The Mayo News (2007-2017).
Completed a PhD at the School of Communications, Dublin City University in 2022 for an oral history of the working lives of former journalists and editors.
Worked as research project officer for community engagement on the transnational CUPHAT (Coastal Uplands: Heritage and Tourism) project at University College Dublin, 2022-2023.
Worked as a teaching assistant at Dublin City University, 2023-2024.
