Wednesday 7th March: Financialisation, inequality and the right to housing in post-crisis Ireland.
Dr Rory Hearne.

This talk will introduce theories of financialisation in housing and the right to housing and its impact on socio-spatial inequalities. It will then outline the process of financialisation and continued neoliberalism in housing policy in the Irish austerity regime and socio-spatial impacts, such as the rise in family homelessness. The talk will also explore new solidarities which have emerged in response to the latest Irish housing crisis and how they have drawn on the right to housing.
