Irish Record Linkage 1864-1913 (IRL) is an Irish Research Council Funded Interdisciplinary project led by the University of Limerick, which was developed in partnership with the Digital Repository of Ireland and Insight @NUI Galway. It reassessed the matters of infant and maternal mortality using registered civil registration data.

This summative workshop comprises two panels: the first, entitled, Sources, Resources and Methods presents papers by leading scholars of Irish social and cultural history. This panel presents and problematizes the use of three different historical data types: parish registers, judicial records and charity letters. The second panel discusses IRL’s main findings from historical and digital archiving perspectives.

We gratefully acknowledge IRC funding and the support of the Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences, the Department of History, University of Limerick and the Gender Arc Network at UL and NUIG.
