About STAD

Since 2013, TENI, in collaboration with the Hate and Hostility Research Group at the University of Limerick, have been collecting and compiling data on transphobia and discrimination through our Stop Transphobia and Discrimination (STAD) reporting system. Transgender people continue to be targets of discrimination, harassment and violence throughout the country. For far too many of us, the simple act of walking down the street can be cause for real fear. Through the STAD campaign, we aim to end the silence on hate crime by encouraging people to report it. Data from the report allows us to examine the true extent of the problem within our community and helps us to find more effective ways to address it.

We are grateful to the report authors Dr Amanda Haynes and Jennifer Schweppe of the Hate and Hostility Research Group.
