The Hon. Mr. Justice John Edwards was called to the Bar in 1983 and practised for twenty three years, spending thirteen years as a junior counsel and ten years as a silk. He was a member of the South Western Circuit and the Munster Bar throughout his time in practice and is a former Secretary of the South Western Circuit and Munster Bar. He was appointed to the High Court in June 2007, when he also became an ex officio Bencher of Kings Inns. He was the judge in charge of the High Court Extradition and European Arrest Warrant list from 2011 until his appointment to the Court of Appeal in 2014. He is a member of the executive committee, and is the Secretary, of the Association of Judges of Ireland. Mr Justice Edwards is Adjunct Professor in the School of Law.
