Gerry Leonard – musician, performer and solo artist – was musical director for David Bowie from the A Reality Tour in 2003, and a member of the seminal artist’s inner circle for 15 years. Born in Clontarf but based in New York, Leonard settled in New York’s East Village where he worked with the artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Sophie B. Hawkins and Rufus Wainwright.
 
Prior to becoming one of Bowie’s most trusted touring and session musicians, his solo career as Spookyghost, an ambient guitar project, ran from the late 90s and concurrent with his work with Bowie. He has also written and performed the score for Irish independent movie  32A, recorded and toured the soundtrack for ‘The Last Mimsy’ with Roger Waters and produced and co-wrote Suzanne Vega’s last two album releases.
 
Professor Eoin Devereux is Assistant Dean for Research in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Limerick, Ireland. His main teaching and research interests are focused on Media, Popular Music, Fan Studies and Media Audiences. Recognised internationally as an expert on media and popular culture, he co-organised the first academic symposium on David Bowie in 2012. He is also the co-editor of David Bowie: Critical Perspectives.
