Gender, Culture & Society PhD Forum

Gender, Culture & Society PhD Forum

The next meeting of the Gender, Culture & Society PhD Forum will take place on Wednesday 6th April 10am in the POD (Ground Floor, Foundation Building).

The theme of this next session will be a group discussion guided by the questions:
Who is a key figure in our research? Why did we chose this particular theoretical perspective/framework/methodology? What particular ideas/influences resonate with our work? How has this shaped the research process/design etc? Ontological and epistemological implications? Suggest a key reading for others to look up for the following session.

The Forum is a space for postgraduate research students to engage in activities that support their research and establish links across disciplines and faculties. It has broad appeal and welcomes all PhD students who are researching topics related to any one of the themes gender, culture or society, or all of these themes as they intersect.

The forum is an important academic support network for postgraduate students and involves a range of activities to support postgraduate research including: an academic reading group, presenting work in progress, preparing for conference presentations and workshops on how to handle a viva.  As a peer-led forum that supports postgraduate work, it operates in a flexible manner to respond to the needs of members as they change from year to year.
