Facing Brexit Realities in 2019

Professor Raymond J Friel,
Director, International Commercial and Economic Law Research Group, School of Law
Special Advisor to the President of UL on European Policy

As the negotiations for the withdrawal of the UK from the EU come to an uncertain conclusion, only now is it becoming clear what the real implications of Brexit will be for Ireland. Much will of course depend on whether there is or is not a deal agreed in the next week or so. However, both EU and UK planning for a no deal scenario is now sufficiently advanced that we can for the first time realistically plot the different pathways that face Ireland from March 2019 onwards.

This will form part of series of events running through 2019 dealing with the implications of the UK leaving the EU across different sectors.
