Department of History Senior Lecturer Dr Ruan O'Donnell will speak on ‘1916 and America’ at the prestigious American Irish History Society event ‘CUALA 2016’ on 19 May 2016. The event is curated by Grammy-Award winner Susan McKeown and is supported by the Irish Arts Council. 
 
Other speakers include Matt Guteri (chair of American Studies at Brown) and Catherine Morris. Topics of the evening include; America and 1916, the link from the Rising to the Harlem Renaissance as well as The Cultural revival.
