Architecture encompasses art, science, and method, but fundamentally, architecture is a way of thinking that is learned in a design studio.  The design studio is at the heart of a school of architecture. The studio is a creative laboratory where learning is developed through experimentation and reflection.  Architecture is the highest creative endeavor, and requires a student to have creative talents in combination with a high academic standing.

In our approach to teaching, the environment plays a strong role. Fundamentally the school will locate architecture within a strong philosophical, technological, cultural, and historical context, as a practice integrated with art and engineering to become a leader in thought on environmental issues.
