Dr John Condren and Dr Alistair Malcolm: international conference - ‘Philip IV’s Instruments of Power’

A recent conference at University College London on Philip IV of Spain (reigned 1621–1665) was well represented by UL Faculty with papers delivered by Dr John Condren and Dr Alistair Malcolm.

Dr Condren spoke about ‘Spanish Power after the Peace of the Pyrenees: the view from the Italian States in the twilight of Philip IV’s reign, 1659–1665.’

Dr Malcolm’s lecture was on ‘Philip IV as a man of business? The government of the Spanish Monarchy with and without a valido, 1640–1665.’
