Dr Vincent O’Connell made a well-received presentation entitled ‘Pathways to the Past: A Path to Participative Learning for Undergraduate and Postgraduate History Students’ at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Teaching Day 2016. The theme of the event was ‘Encouraging Student Engagement’ and faculty shared their experiences as well as innovations and ideas. Also in attendance were History colleagues Professor Anthony McElligott, Dr Roberto Mazza and Dr Karol Mullaney-Dignam.

Ms Rita McCarthy, PhD student and radio director, launched the radio documentary ‘1916: Two Clare lives’ in the Westropp Room in Clare County Museum on Thursday 26 August 2016. The programme was commissioned by Clare County Council and it was twice broadcast on RTE in August 2016.
