Professor Colum Dunne (BSc, PhD, MBA) was educated at University College Cork (UCC). Colum has held senior research roles at Ireland's National Food Biotechnology Centre, and UCC's BioMerit Research Centre & Departments of Microbiology and Medicine. Following a period as General Manager of a cancer research centre focused on development of gene-/chemotherapies and innovative medical devices, Colum joined Glanbia plc as Director of Research and served as a member of the Boards of the Glanbia Nutritionals group of companies.

Prof Walter Cullen: is a GP at Abbey River Medical Practice in Limerick City and Professor of General Practice at the University of Limerick Graduate Entry Medical School (UL-GEMS). In this role he leads a multi-disciplinary research group working on the role of general practice and primary care in addressing problem drug / alcohol use and mental health.

Professor Alan Donnelly is Professor of Exercise Physiology in the Dept. of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at UL. He is currently Assistant Dean for Research for the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences. Prof. Donnelly is director of the Centre for Physical Activity and Health Research (C-PAHR) at UL. This research centre was established in 2011, and brings together 19 academics and researchers to undertake multidisciplinary research on the effects of physical activity on health.
