Established in December 2006, Georgia Tech Ireland (GTI) is a highly-regarded collaborator with Irish corporations, universities and research centres, as well as with U.S. companies. GTI's offices are located in a 115-acre industrial park in the strategically located city of Athlone in the heart of Ireland. On June 18, 2010, the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway) and the University of Limerick, announced a unique partnership to develop a joint translational research initiative.
