Sylvester O'Halloran Research Award for GEMS PhD Student Dr Leon Walsh

At the Sylvester O Halloran Perioperative Scientific symposium held in the GEMS on the 4th and 5th of March 1016 Dr Leon Walsh, a GEMS PhD student and Clinical Tutor was awarded the ASGBI/Sylvester O’Halloran Published Paper prize for his paper titled, “An appraisal of the computed axial tomographic appearance of the human mesentery based on mesenteric contiguity from the duodenojejunal flexure to the mesorectal level”. He will now go on to present this paper at the International Surgical Congress of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland that is being held in Belfast in May 2016. Dr Walsh is supervised by Professor Calvin Coffey, 4i co-director and GEMS Prof of Surgery.
