Dr. Ailish Hannigan is Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the Graduate entry Medical School, UL. She has a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computing from the University of Limerick and a PhD in Biostatistics from University College Cork. Her research interests include the development and application of survival analysis techniques to medicine and dentistry. She is also involved in statistics education research and is the consultant statistician to the National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and Learning. In 2000/2001 she set up and managed the Statistical Consulting Unit (SCU) in the University of Limerick (UL) which provides a professional statistical consulting service within UL and the wider community. She is currently affiliated to CSTAR, which offers research methodology advice to those involved in health research in Ireland.
