Biography
As a postdoctoral researcher in BDS research group at the University of Limerick, I specialize in leveraging large language models to address various downstream tasks within the PolicyFlow project. Previously, during my tenure at the University College Dublin, I focused on harnessing my expertise in natural language processing (NLP) to pioneer innovative solutions in regulatory domains. One of my notable projects, the TRANSPIRE initiative, involved the development of an AI platform that uses human expertise with artificial intelligence to unravel complex laws and regulations. Collaborating closely with industry partners Corlytics and Version 1, we aimed to streamline business processes while safeguarding consumer interests. This project, generously supported by the Irish Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment through the Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF), exemplified my commitment to impactful research.With over 15 years of dedicated research experience, I have actively contributed to advancing the frontier of NLP through scholarly publications and collaborative endeavors with interdisciplinary teams. My expertise spans various domains within computational linguistics, including machine translation, text summarization, low-resource languages, document classification, and the development of large language models. Proficient in a diverse array of programming languages and frameworks such as PHP, Python, Java, Android, Keras, PyTorch and Kotlin, I am deeply passionate about leveraging NLP to address real-world challenges and drive positive societal change.
